FAQs
What type of jobs do you have available?
Hewett Recruitment has opportunities from the shop floor to the boardroom. So whether you are looking for temporary or permanent work we have plenty on offer.
Our industrial division is one of the largest in Worcestershire and work can vary from skilled labour and FLT driving to picking & packing, production and assembly.
The commercial division covers all office based roles from reception and switchboard through to Secretarial, PA and Office Management.
What hours can I work?
Temping gives you the flexibility to choose your hours and work when you want to. We can accommodate school hours/term time, full-time or part time and block periods… for those of you who like to travel! If you are a student and just need work during the holidays… we’ll do our best to keep you busy and get you earning cash to help towards those student loans!
Why temp?
Many of our temps just enjoy it…. It's their lifestyle choice. They work the hours that suit them and get to utilise their existing skills and also gives them the flexibility to try new things, learn new skills and experience a variety of working environments whilst working the hours that suit them. You may be in between jobs, just starting out on the career ladder and need to build experience or returning to work after a career break. We take care to match the jobs to your skill set so you will always feel confident in the assignments you undertake. Every year we place hundreds of people in permanent jobs through temping - it can be a great foot in the door to a new opportunity!
How much can I expect to earn?
Your hourly rate will depend on the type of work you are doing but we never pay below the 'National Minimum Wage'. Your designated consultant will give you full details of your pay and the role you will be undertaking before you commit to an assignment so you are never left in the dark.
Do I get holiday pay?
The holiday year begins from January 1st each year and runs until December 31st inclusively. All holiday entitlement must be taken within the holiday year. It cannot be carried over. The maximum holiday entitlement is 28 days per holiday year from April 1st 2009 – inclusive of any Bank Holidays.
How do I get paid?
You are paid weekly in arrears. You will be given a timesheet by your consultant and you must record the hours you work each day and at the end of each week you must get your supervisor to sign your timesheet. All timesheets must then be returned to our office by no later than the Monday following the week you have worked. Your hours will then be processed and your money will be paid into your bank at the end of the week.
Circumstances do often change – for whatever reason be it a change in availability, access to transport or perhaps a redundancy - providing you work with us and keep us informed we will do our best to accommodate your changing circumstances. It is also extremely important to tell us about any simple changes such as a new address or contact number.
