Community Warden 
Location: Malvern

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and self-motivated live in Warden with responsibility for the welfare of residents (currently 60 living in 44 flats/houses) and day to day office and site administration. The organisation provides accommodation for self-supporting older people within a Christian Community.

The Wardens Role
Responsibility for the welfare of the residents and a knowledge of what is happening in the Community.
Overseeing the three deputy wardens, all of whom are residents within the Community.
Overseeing and assisting the residents who play a voluntary role in the Community, such as those who do the flowers in the Church or those who organize and help to set up social events or those who help with the gardening.
Overseeing minor maintenance within the Community and liaison with contractors.
Administration within the office, such as dealing with written, electronic or verbal communications, financial administration in conjunction with the Bursar, and assisting residents should they be, for example, making benefit applications.
Overall responsibility for health and safety and security, on behalf of the trustees.
Helping to find new residents when the need arises.
Attendance at twice yearly Trustee meetings and liaison as required with Chairman of the Trustees, Trustees secretary, and the Trustees accountants and other advisers as necessary.

The qualities required by a Community Warden
A proven ability as a friendly, caring person who has experience with the elderly, and possibly the social service systems.
A familiarity with computers, especially Microsoft Office, and the ability to participate in, and maintain, a well organised office
A flexible attitude towards work. The warden’s post is not a 9-5 job.
An ability to communicate with people, and to remain calm under pressure, and to maintain a discreet and confidential manner.
A clear DBS.

The Package
A recently renovated one bedroomed flat, free of charge, plus payment of utility bills, the council tax and water rates attributable to the flat.
A contribution towards your phone bill.
Remuneration of about £8,000 per annum depending on experience, payable monthly in arrears.

This is an established post to commence April 2018.
