This year we are delighted to welcome the NEW Chief Executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation Neil Carberry. Neil will be joining us as keynote speaker and will no doubt have a vast sea of information and experiences he will wish to share amongst our delegates. We're also excited to be hearing from Andy McBride, Head of Resourcing and Shared Services for Halfords Ltd. With considerable experience in large scale resourcing and has been the leader in many system implementations and change programmes, she'll be sure to deliver an interesting, interactive speech.
The 2018 H&W HR Professional Conference will see the return of Sally Morris, one of the leading employment law solicitors in the county. Hewett's are thrilled at her return, as she promises to provide delegates with all the latest legal updates, offering a chance to ask questions on current topics which are effecting the current employment market.

HR Professionals Conference 2018 Guest Speakers
Keynote Speaker: Neil Carberry – REC – CEO
Neil Carberry was appointed as Chief Executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation in June 2018 having been managing director at the Confederation of British Industry, leading the CBI’s work on the labour market, skills, energy and infrastructure. In 1999, Neil began his career in recruitment working for executive search firm Fraser Watson before doing a post-graduate degree in Human Resources at the London School of Economics and joining the CBI in 2004. He is a member of the council of the conciliation service ACAS and of the Low Pay Commission where he helps guide pay policy in the UK. He is also the chair of a small primary academy trust in Oxfordshire.
Neil looks forward to addressing his delegates, noting "workplace expectations are changing faster than ever as technology, the economy and society’s expectations change." Neil will review some of these key themes and identify the questions that need to be in companies’ minds when planning for the future, and identify some of the factors that will help businesses to do things well.
Halfords - Head of Resourcing and Shared Services
Andy McBride has over 25 years’ experience in the world of people. She started her early career in Volume contract catering and hospitality and then made the move across to HR. She ran her own Assessment & Development business for 10 years and then jumped over to client side, predominantly within the Financial Services and Retail sector. She is currently Head of Resourcing and Shared Services for Halfords Ltd, a well-known Retailer of Cycles and Automotive products. Andy is responsible for all Group Talent acquisition, HR transactional services and Employee Relations. She has considerable experience in large scale resourcing and has been the leader in many system implementations and change programmes.
Andy will share with us what she has been doing to nurture talent from different avenues, her thoughts on Diversity and how Halfords are maximising the Apprenticeship levy. She promises to try and make her session as interactive as possible!
