Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

£16.96 per hour | Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

Temporary Assignment (5-6 Months) with Genuine Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Hewett Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a well-established engineering manufacturer on an exciting internal project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled hands-on technician to work on complex electro-mechanical products within a modern manufacturing environment. The role offers varied and interesting work, the chance to support prototype development and genuine long-term opportunities for the right individual.

The Role

As an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the build, assembly, testing and fault-finding of complex electro-mechanical products.

Working from engineering drawings and technical documentation, you will support prototype builds, first-off assemblies and manufacturing projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building complex electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Manufacturing wiring looms and cable assemblies
  • Prototype and first-off product builds
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
  • Testing and inspecting completed assemblies
  • Fault-finding and diagnosing assembly issues
  • Soldering electrical components
  • Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
  • Machining and modifying cabinets and enclosures
  • Assisting with installations and repair work when required
  • Supporting continuous improvement and manufacturing projects

  • Electro-mechanical assembly
  • Electrical assembly
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Manufacturing or production engineering environments
  • Wiring and loom assembly
  • Fault-finding and testing
  • Engineering build or prototype work

You will also:

  • Be confident using hand and power tools
  • Be technically minded and quality focused
  • Be able to read technical drawings and documentation
  • Have strong problem-solving skills
  • Be capable of working independently and using your own initiative

Suitable Backgrounds

This Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician role could be suitable for candidates who have previously worked as:

Electrical Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Wiring Technician, Panel Wirer, Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Prototype Technician, Assembly Technician, Electro-Mechanical Build Technician, Test Technician, Engineering Technician or Assembly Operative within an engineering environment.
