As an automation engineer you will be part of a squad responsible for the quality of my client's new flagship product. You will provide value to our customers by delivering quality working software at pace supporting UI, API and mobile projects in a microservice architecture. You will be working with new and emerging tech to help build cutting edge, scalable, enterprise-grade online applications and services.
Your role as an automation engineer will be to automate the testing of web based and API projects based on the requirements delivered from the business, ensuring that functionality of systems developed in-house is fully covered in the automation suit to meet the high standards of quality expected by the business.
You will be:
-Participating in agile ceremonies collaborating cross departmentally with product owners, architects, designers as well as software engineers
-Defect management within projects to prevent customer facing issues
-Create, maintain, deliver and document automated test suites
As an Automation Engineer you should have the following experience:
- Working experience of API automation (REST or SOAP) using RestAssured or similar.
- Expertise in building/implementing POM's, externally data driving tests, keyword driven assertions using Selenium, package management tools (Maven)
-Extensive working experience using Java, JUnit, behaviour driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber.
-Good understanding of mock services, mocking, stubbing and service virtualisation using tools like Mocklabs.
-Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test practices within them using;
-Azure Devops, Docker, Terraform, AWS and Powershell.
-Working practice of version control and code repositories (GIT)
This role as an Automation Engineer is based in Chester so commutable from Liverpool, Manchester, Ellesmere Port, Wrexham, Northwich, Warrington, and Birkenhead.
