The Role

Business Operations Manager - Financial Services Sector.

This is a brand new role created to provide inspirational operational management for the business. Firmly established and continuing to grow, there are exciting plans in place for further growth and expansion and the Business Operations Manager will be crucial to this next phase of development.

You will report to the Business Directors and work in partnership to uphold all of the operational deliverables, culture and values. As part of a 'family values' business, you should be approachable and engaging, with the ability to manage the expectations of the team, make robust decisions and be a strong decision maker. Requiring a forward thinking mindset, you should seek out and encourage both individual development and business improvements and be dedicated and results driven with a strong passion for business success.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment of the design of the operational elements of the business and make recommendations for improvement/stream-line.
  • Human Resource Management including; recruitment, performance management, appraisals, objective setting and monitoring, training, personal development plans for employees, employee relations.
  • Define the resource succession plan for the business.
  • Full responsibility for any grievance and disciplinary matters.
  • Development of a Workers Representative Committee.
  • Oversee Health & Safety ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Oversee outsourced marketing and drive the future marketing needs aligned to business plan.
  • Supporting the continuity and development of the business culture of accountability, mutual respect, value system and business ethos.
  • Reviewing all policies at least once per year to ensure they are up to date and legally compliant.
  • Develop an operational business manual to include all policies and procedures.
  • Introduce a company handbook.
  • Review current job descriptions and update and issue accordingly.
  • Assess benchmarking, salary banding and reviews and make recommendations to Directors.
  • Reviewing and approving operational invoices within budget.
  • Support the Directors with input to the budget planning and ensure all costing is within parameters set and agreed.
  • Recommend improvements to meet the overall business standards for processes and systems.
  • Make recommendations to improve business efficiency.
  • Accurate and timely statistical analysis and data monitoring.
  • Driving operational projects in a timely manner and ensure successful completion.

Requirements

  • Previous management experience.
  • Financial Services experience beneficial.
  • Operational experience within the commercial business service provider sector.
  • Experience of the execution of business strategy and delivery of results.
  • Change management experience.
  • Experience of HR resource management, capacity planning, recruitment and induction.
  • Performance management experience to include appraisals, objectives and deliverance and setting training and development plans.
  • Proven experience of IT systems including requirements and enhancements.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Current driving licence and own transport.
