Business Systems Manager

Our client is looking for a Business Systems Manager to join their expanding, global organisation based in Worcestershire.

Your role will be to manage the IT business systems including SAP BUSINESS ONE to support business processing for finance, sales, supply chain, warehouse, and production. Identify, recommend, and implement IT solutions to help drive the business forward.

As a Business Systems Manager your role will include….

• Responsibility for our core business systems, including administration, maintenance, and development
• Project manage new software from producing specifications; recommending providers; testing; roll-out/launch and training
• Liaise with internal departments to understand their needs; recommend and implement solutions and provide support to users
• Define and document functional and technical requirements, and coordinate all aspects of the business system life-cycle
• Define and implement change control procedures.
• Plan and oversee the release of upgrades and enhancements to systems, and develop standard regression tests with IT Manager
• Analyse and identify common sources of technical system problems, develop and implement appropriate solutions
• Manage and ensure up-to-date data and availability of test databases for training and UAT testing, and coordinate effective cross-functional testing
• Communicate key insights and findings to the Change Team

Identify, recommend, and implement systems solutions to help drive the business forward

• Deliver software solutions that provide a competitive advantage to support the growth of the business in a way that satisfies the CEO and Ops Board
• Pro-actively contribute to the continuous improvement of technology/business processes through identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes
• Conduct market research to outline new system solutions that will improve current and future business capability
• Relationship and performance management of suppliers and external partners
• Establish strong working partnerships and manage our SAP Business One vendor partner ensuring the business receives excellent service and priority attention where required
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms, manage software costs and licences
• Monitor supplier performance and act promptly to address any areas of concern
• Manage the business systems budget and purchase appropriate and cost-effective software solutions to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Support the Finance Director to set accurate annual business systems budget
• Work with the Change Team to define priorities in line with business strategy
• Control expenditure in line with business systems budget and report on expenditure
• Develop business systems strategy and maintain procedures and policies to support the delivery of business strategy
• Participate in the formulation and development of our business systems strategy
• Develop and implement systems policies and provide best practice guidelines
• Create and maintain documented SAP Business One manual
• Research Data Protection and ensure we are compliant, including training of staff
• Produce SAP business systems reports monthly for the CEO and Ops Board
• Manage SAP issues log, and coordinate change management and governance
• Interact with internal colleagues at all levels to resolve business systems related issues
• Work collaboratively and closely with the IT Manager, E-com Director and Change Team

As a Business Systems Manager your experience will include…

• Degree calibre, preferably with a degree in computer science or similar
• High aptitude for understanding and learning new software packages, and the ability to understand end-to-end business processes
• Minimum 3 - 5 years related experience in business/systems analysis
• Experience of SAP Business One or similar integrated ERP system
• Experience in a fast-moving distribution environment
• Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing
• Experience in analysing data to draw business-relevant conclusions
• Expertise in data management and systems governance
• Proven track-record of managing external support partners
• Excellent general IT skills combined with a good head for business
• An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
• Team player with personal and professional integrity
• Can build relationships with internal and external contacts
• Experience in writing SQL queries advantageous
• Knowledge in generating process documentation
