*To develop original and interesting menus suitable for different diets, with a strong emphasis on original and quality vegetarian and vegan dishes and those using local, seasonal, organic and higher welfare produce
*To prepare and cook all foods for the cafe and to provide catering for special occasions and events, such as meetings and birthday parties
*To ensure the quality and presentation of the food is to the highest standard
*To manage café's kitchen in an environmentally conscious way, with direction from the Café Manager, including undertaking monthly stock takes and ordering supplies according to a strict budget
*To have the knowledge to observe the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995, to adhere to strict food safety and cleaning procedures
*To produce, review and update method statements for staff to follow to ensuring hygiene standards and safe methods are maintained to the above high standards
*Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen
*Experience of menu planning & budgeting
*A recognised Food Safety certificate and relevant qualifications
*Passionate about creating good, wholesome dishes from quality local and seasonal ingredients.
*Well organised, tactful and hardworking
*Friendly and helpful when dealing with the public and the team
Chef Salary £17,000 to £19,000 dependent on experience.
36 hours per week. Hours will fall between the hours of 10.00 am to 5.00 pm depending on season. (4pm finish in Winter seasons)
Weekend and bank holiday work will be expected on a rota basis.
Based in Worcester.
