Customer Facing Technical Specialist

If you have a natural technical flair and acumen within either Engineering / Sciences / Electronics plus an ability for presenting your knowledge in a customer facing delivery environment, this could be an ideal fit for you! With your academic knowledge, you will assume responsibility for managing the technical and scientific enquiries from internal and external customers. With a combination of analysing and understanding products (full training given) you will be a technical and customer-facing specialist within a close knit team and offer the highest level of customer support.

Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Working as part of a team, logging all customer contacts and tracking of enquiries
  • Taking ownership of customer issues and resolving within a given timeframe
  • Learning and maintaining your own technical knowledge across the broad product portfolio as well as developing a more in-depth knowledge of specific product lines
  • Working to achieve accurate diagnosis of faults and offering solutions
  • Providing feedback on product quality and design issues
  • Working with other technical specialists to write and issue technical bulletins
  • Maintaining and updating all relevant records
  • Liaising with other countries' support teams

The ability to communicate confidently both on a verbal and technical written level is key to this role as is the necessity to offer an exceptional level of customer service.

Skills and experience required:

  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • A confidence and willingness to learn the portfolio of products in a laboratory environment (including using, maintaining and repairing)
  • A strong technical acumen and inquisitive mind
  • Experience in dealing with customers
  • Excellent IT and analytical skills
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Science / Engineering / Electronics or relevant work experience
