My client is an established company that specialises in producing made-to-measure bespoke products that are used for automated machinery. They are seeking a new Design Engineer to join their existing team to create detailed product designs, manage design projects from initial concept to delivery, assist with estimating projects, provide technical support and produce all supporting technical documentation.

Design Engineer Responsibilities;

• Liaise with customers and gather required design specifications
• Identify and provide alternative design solutions
• Create detailed product designs using Solidworks
• Produce all supporting technical documentation
• Determine the BOMs for the products
• Review legacy designs and creates improvement solutions
• Provide technical support to clients and the Production Team

Design Engineer Requirements;

• Previous experience in a Design Engineer position is essential
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, sheet metal, and plastics would be advantageous
• Experienced is using Solidworks
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Experienced in managing design projects from initial concept to delivery
• Excellent communication skills are essential
