Engineering Manager
Malvern

A fantastic opportunity has arisen as an Engineering Manager to join a high-tech and expanding research and development organisation in Malvern. The role requires a good mix of technical understanding and strong leadership / line-management responsibility to drive R&D teams forward to deliver against technical projects.
The Engineering Manager will manage a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with Project Managers, Product Managers and Software Team Leaders to deliver customer solutions.
Responsibilities will include;
*Line managing and supporting career development of R&D team members
*Fostering an engineering culture which strives towards on-time delivery of high-quality innovative solutions
*Coordinate with other R&D and cross-functional leaders to adapt to changing business priorities
*Manage a thorough diagnoses and resolution of quality issues, with a focus on Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) and Design for excellence (DfX)
*Understand and mentor team members in design techniques, experimentation, analysis and domain understanding
*Guide the development of new products through ensuring the correct technical direction is taken and taking on technical responsibility as appropriate
Requirements of the Engineering Manager role;
*Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and ability to collaborate with other departments
*A results driven and innovative mind-set that ensures project delivery through flexibility and confidence of approach
*Experience of working in a role involving significant operations or service interaction, including engineering change control (ECN) processes, customer feedback and experience of Lean manufacturing techniques (i.e. SPC).
*A Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline - Physics, Mathematics or equivalent. PhD in relevant discipline may also be useful.
*3 - 5 years' experience in a system development or technical environment would be advantageous
