£32,000 - £33,000 Equivalent Salary

12-Month Assignment

Are you an experienced Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking for a varied role where you can broaden your accounting, treasury and financial reporting experience?

We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a well-established international organisation based in Ross-on-Wye. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative finance team, supporting a wide range of accounting, reconciliation, treasury, compliance and reporting activities within a large-scale business environment.

Initially offered as a 12-month assignment, there may be opportunities available beyond the contract term for the right individual.

Following an initial training period, hybrid working will be available alongside flexible working arrangements and ongoing support from an experienced finance team.

The Role

This is a broad and varied finance position that offers exposure to multiple accounting disciplines. You will support financial reporting, reconciliations, treasury processes, compliance activities and audit preparation while working closely with colleagues across the wider finance function.

The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, has strong attention to detail and is comfortable managing financial data, controls and reporting requirements within a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Support month-end and financial accounting activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations

* Review and validate financial transactions and reporting prepared by colleagues across the finance function

* Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, P&L reconciliations and GRNI reporting

* Process employee expenses and maintain accurate financial records

* Support treasury activities including payment processing, bank reconciliations and cash management

* Assist with cashflow forecasting and financial reporting requirements

* Maintain fixed asset registers and support asset accounting processes

* Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance procedures and regulatory requirements

* Support year-end activities, audit preparation and finance projects

* Maintain finance documentation, contracts and agreement records

* Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders

* Collaborate across accounting, treasury, reporting and compliance functions to support business objectives

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

* Previous experience within a finance, accounting or financial administration role

* Experience supporting reconciliations, reporting and month-end processes

* Knowledge of treasury activities including payments, banking and cash management

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy

* Excellent organisational and workload management skills

* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

* Good Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with finance systems

* Experience working within a regulated environment and an understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements

* Knowledge of FCA-regulated processes would be advantageous

Desirable Skills

* AAT qualified, studying ACCA or CIMA, or qualified through experience

* Experience within manufacturing, financial services or another regulated industry

* SAP, Sage or ERP system experience

* Exposure to audit, compliance, financial controls or management reporting
