Job: Financial Accountant

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Location: Kidderminster

Hybrid: 3 Days Office. 2 WFH

We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our clients Finance team and help to drive continuous improvement in accounting across their business. You'll be looking after the business balance sheet and financial controls and be the main point of contact for accounting support in the financial control team.

As a financial accountant, you'll provide subject matter expertise on accounting standards and how to apply them across the business. You'll make sure everything is completed on time and in line with accounting requirements, and work with colleagues to quickly resolve any queries.

Your duties:

  • Compliance, control, reporting, analysing and processing
  • Monitoring & updating the daily/monthly cash flow including forecasting
  • Carry out & review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting in resolving any associated issues
  • Review and management of purchase ledger, including supplier payment schedule
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return
  • Preparation of statutory audited accounts
  • Internal auditing of processes & stock control
  • Identification, investigation and resolution of financial issues
  • Owner of the processes and structure relating to the company accounting systems
  • Adhoc queries from operational staff, Customer queries etc.
  • "SAGE Champion" - assist staff in developing and troubleshooting issues
  • Optimise the utilisation of SAGE
  • Key variance analysis of actual v budget performance
  • Preparation of internal monthly management accounts for the business & the group
  • Preparation of annual budgets/forecasts - creation of departmental budgets
  • Processing / Approving all Payments
  • Assist in review, design and delivery of new processes into the business
  • Regular review of overheads and monitoring of spend to budget and forecast
  • Credit Control - Recovery of Debt including weekly reporting of outstanding Debt to management
  • Review & authorisation of supply chain payments & payroll
  • Month End Stock Reporting - Analysis to be provided to Purchasing and wider business
  • Assist in the integration to the Group systems, processes & policies
  • Providing support to the Financial Director
  • Educate employees on compliance regulations and the impact of non-compliance on the organisation
