Job description

Group Financial Accountant

Do you enjoy the technicalities of accountancy, including analysing data, providing reports, and spotting data anomalies? Rather than producing standard monthly accounts, this role will mainly involve producing reports and analysis for the board, external investors and auditors, often to tight deadlines. You will also have to carry out investigations into queries or anomalies and report back.

We are looking for a part-time Financial Accountant to work 22.5 hours, preferably over 5 or 4 days a week.

Financial Accountant Responsibilities
* Preparation of the Group monthly consolidation and investigation of movements
* Holding company management accounts
* Private Equity monthly returns, reconciliations and ad hoc requests
* Bank report monthly
* Preparation of Group VAT return, Irish VAT return and annual partial exemption recalculation
* Responding to HMRC on VAT and other tax issues
* Review of Sales returns
* Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition
* Provide monthly management accounts IFRS conversion report
* Ensure internal controls are maintained and improvements identified as part of an internal audit process
* Identification, calculation, documentation and implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements
* Preparation of the annual Group consolidation model, EBITDA rec and cashflow for all entities
* Liaising with auditors during interim and main audits on all technical areas
* Preparation and review of statutory accounts for all Group companies
* Review of Non-UK entity accounts
* Audit Committee Document control points action plan and implementation
* Assisting preparation of tax provisioning number and tax notes in the statutory accounts
* Assist in preparation and review of Group tax returns.
* Liaison with foreign entity accountancy firms regarding tax, VAT and statutory returns
* Involved in ensuring contracts and agreements comply with statutory reporting requirements
* Review of balance sheet reconciliations monthly to ensure compliance with accounting policies

Financial Accountant Requirements
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or close to completing the qualification
* A good understanding of new accounting standards IFRS 15 & 16
* A background in working in the service sector so you are used to dealing with the revenue recognition of intangible assets

Based in Worcester, the full-time-equivalent salary based is £45K. The salary will be pro-rate based on 22.5 hours for this Financial Accountant position
