Health and Safety Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced, proactive Health and Safety Manager who would enjoy working collaboratively with the Senior Management team in order to maintain an outstanding level of Health and Safety across two sites, including a fast paced, large warehouse environment. A similar background would be beneficial for this role.

Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Ensuring the company compliance is prevailing with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Giving presentations to the Board on S.H.E matters as required
  • Reporting into the Director of Health and Safety and Deputising in their absence
  • Fully investigating any accidents and presenting the findings to the Board as required
  • Overseeing and developing two Health and Safety Advisors as well as FLT Trainer
  • Ensuring that all FLT initial and refresher training is completed
  • Conducting all Health and Safety audits
  • Ensuring all new employees receive Health and Safety training
  • Ensuring compliance with COSHH Regulations
  • Conducting Fire Risk Assessments
  • Providing all staff with Fire Awareness training
  • Conducting Health and Safety training as required
  • Attending courses as required
  • Working collaboratively across the board with business partners

This is a hugely collaborative business and requires someone who is used to working in a fast paced environment.

Skills and experience required:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (essential) (Diploma highly desirable)
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (preferred)
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management (desirable)
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels
  • A confident problem solver and decision maker
  • Sound knowledge and experience of warehouse operations
  • Previous management experience
