The Role

This HR Officer role is on a Fixed Term Contract basis of up to 12 months.

To assist the HR Manager and team to provide a full and effective Human Resources service, by supporting and coaching Managers on a range of People related issues. Supporting on day to day service provision for specific areas of the business and specific aspects of HR work, including projects from time to time.

In the absence of the Human Resources Advisors, to be the first point of contact for matters
usually dealt with by them, in liaison with HR Manager/Head of HR

Responsibilities

Supporting the department to ensure that we are delivering the best employee experience that we can, through all our procedures.
Input to the recruitment process from manpower planning to interviewing, medical and DBS screening, appointment and induction.
Maintain accurate employee records.
Maintain best practice HR policies and procedures that comply fully with statutory requirements.
Proactively ensure policies and procedures are embedded and operated consistently across the organization.
Ensure policy and procedure changes are approved, effectively communicated and entered in to the Employee Handbook, and that appropriate supporting documents are updated and amended.
Ensure the HR team communicates/co-operates effectively with payroll.
Participate in benchmarking and regular reviews of employee pay and benefits with best practice across sectors.
Support the team with absence and performance management.
Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of Human Resource performance indicators.
Monitor effective delivery of Induction and Probation processes, by managers, ensuring necessary paperwork is completed and followed up with staff and managers where issues are highlighted.

Requirements

2 years' experience of working at a similar level within HR.
CIPD Level 3 qualified as a minimum.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
Use of HR Management System.
Some knowledge of payroll would be beneficial.
Experience of a Unionised environment beneficial.

Circa £30,000 annual salary.
Based in Kidderminster.
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm.
