Job description
Infrastructure and Support Manager
We are looking for a new Head of Hosting to manage the operation of our private data centre and managed service clients. The role will provide 2nd and 3rd line support and have regular contact with a range of customers and internal management. The role will be supported by a junior as well as the hardware team.
Experience & skills
- At least 5 year's commercial experience in an appropriate IT role
- experience working for an MSP
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Experience of Windows Server 2012 - 2019, including IIS and SQL
- Virtualisation, VMware and Hyper-V
- Email, POP3/IMAP/SMTP
- Monitoring Systems such as PRTG
- Networking, configuring switches, firewalls and VPNs.
- DNS servers
- Use of backup software e.g. VM Explorer and Veeam
- Proficiency in Linux, Ubuntu and CentOS
Nice to have
- Qualification e.g. MTA, CCNA, JNCIA, MCSA.
- HTML 5, WordPress, Joomla
Responsibilities
- Provide the highest level of telephone and email-based support
- Configuring and troubleshooting, email services
- Making changes to DNS/Domain names
- Management of customer firewalls
- Azure and AD management
- Applying firmware / software updates
- Working within agreed SLAs
- System health checks
- Maintaining and improving documentation
- Our-of-hours updates to servers
- Provide out of hours "disaster" support as part of a 24/7 rota
