Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing, technology-led business operating within the insurance sector. This is a highly visible role within a collaborative FP&A team, offering significant autonomy, exposure to senior leadership, and the chance to make a genuine impact in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end management accounts process while also supporting the ongoing development of reporting, controls, and financial insight across the business.

The Management Accountant Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full ownership of the monthly management accounts process across multiple group entities
  • Preparation and review of consolidated management accounts
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting activities
  • Production of Board and Executive reporting packs
  • Delivering insightful reporting across areas including sales activity, customers and R&D
  • Supporting the development of departmental and product-level P&L reporting
  • Assisting with forecasting and budgeting processes alongside the wider FP&A team
  • Driving continuous improvement across reporting, controls, automation and processes
  • Leveraging financial systems and data to improve efficiency and insight
  • Line management, coaching, and development of one team member

The Management Accountant skillset

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with strong management accounting experience and the ability to operate confidently within a dynamic commercial environment.

You will also possess:

  • Proven experience producing accurate and timely financial information
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and improvement-focused mindset
  • Previous experience within a SaaS or technology-led business would be advantageous
  • Exposure to systems such as SAP, Jira, or Salesforce would be beneficial
  • Prior people management experience, or clear readiness to step into a leadership role
