We are working with a Herefordshire based client to source a Contract Mobile Application Developer. The incumbent will be assisting them in developing innovative cutting edge mobile software applications for the Security, Defence and Commercial sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

-Working with Product Managers and internal software teams, assisting with the development of a range of native Android mobile applications.
-Provide technical expertise to the business with regards to mobile application development.
-Design, build and maintain efficient, reliable Java code for Android platforms.
-Provide supporting documentation for all work produced.
-Provide support and maintenance to existing mobile applications, identifying bottlenecks, bugs and delivering solutions to these issues.

Essential Skills

-Experience with Mobile Application development (Android SDK) with a demonstrable portfolio of innovative, functional and responsive applications.
-Experienced in Object Orientated Software Development (Java) and REST-API integration.
-Good UI/UX skills with ability to interpret requirements to and from the design team.
-Strong problem solving skills with the ability to work effectively in team environments.
-Additional experience or previous background of web and desktop application development.


-Knowledge of encryption securities for software.
-Software functionality in low connectivity situations.
-Additional proficiency in delivering content for IOS apps (Objective C).
-Skills in other languages and tools such as C++, WPF and automated technologies.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with unique software applications, there scope for flexible working hours and remote working, although the successful candidate will be expected to spend a portion of time on site.
Candidates may be required to undergo Security Clearance.
