Panel Wirer / Electro-Mechanical Technician

Location: Bromsgrove
Pay Rate: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour (DOE)
Contract: Temporary with Potential Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Overtime: Regularly Available

Are You an Experienced Panel Wirer or Electro-Mechanical Technician?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer in Bromsgrove who, due to continued growth and increased project demand, are looking to add a skilled Contract Panel Wirer / Electro-Mechanical Technician to their workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and professional engineering environment working on high-quality bespoke electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies rather than repetitive production work. For the right candidate, there is the potential for the role to become permanent.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
  • Regular overtime available

The Role

As a Contract Panel Wirer / Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for building and wiring electrical control panels and associated equipment from technical drawings and schematics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wiring and assembling electrical control panels from schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Installing electrical components including relays, contactors, terminals and control equipment
  • Carrying out point-to-point wiring and cable routing to a high standard
  • Mechanical assembly and fitting of associated equipment and components
  • Building assemblies and panels from start to finish
  • Diagnosing and resolving wiring or assembly issues
  • Working from engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Supporting production targets and project deadlines
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, health & safety and housekeeping

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience as a Panel Wirer, Control Panel Wirer, Electrical Assembler, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Electrical Fitter or similar
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Strong electrical wiring and assembly skills
  • Mechanical fitting and assembly experience
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or control panel build environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desirable Experience

  • Industrial control panel build experience
  • Automation systems experience
  • Relevant electrical qualifications
  • Previous electro-mechanical assembly experience
