Location: Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, LL41 3RY
Salary: £16.92 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 12-18 MONTHS

We are looking for a proactive, organised, and detail-focused Maintenance Planner & Purchasing Coordinator to join a busy extrusion manufacturing facility in Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role where you'll be at the heart of keeping our operations running efficiently.

Combining maintenance planning and purchasing responsibilities, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the right materials and resources are available at the right time. Your contribution will directly support production performance, minimise downtime, and help drive operational success.

What You'll Be Doing

Maintenance Planning

  • Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities
  • Coordinate maintenance work alongside production teams to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
  • Maintain accurate maintenance schedules, records, and documentation
  • Monitor the completion of planned maintenance tasks and follow up on outstanding actions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance processes
  • Manage spare parts inventories and ensure critical stock levels are maintained

Purchasing & Procurement

  • Source and purchase maintenance spares, consumables, and production-related materials
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best value for the business
  • Raise purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively manage replenishment requirements
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information using company systems

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, Purchasing Officer, Procurement Coordinator, or similar manufacturing-based role
  • Strong understanding of maintenance scheduling
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word,
  • Strong organisational and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
