Job description

The Role

The Purchasing Administrator will work as part of a small, busy team reporting in to the Purchasing Manager based at Head Office in Stourport. Although this is primarily an administrative office based role, you will also be expected to go on to the manufacturing shop floor from time to time to understand any supply issues or obtain missing paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with suppliers to confirm delivery dates for orders are in line with the required dates.
  • Updating purchase order with any date changes.
  • Update the purchasing team about any delays or problems with suppliers, highlighting any potential issues at the earliest possible opportunity.
  • Arranging any required transport / shipping to collect goods.
  • Chasing order acknowledgements and checking against purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Advising other departments of expected deliveries.
  • Obtaining any missing paperwork for deliveries (delivery notes, PODs, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Support the purchasing team with general administration tasks.


Requirements

  • Good all round administration skills.
  • Confident communicator with a good telephone manner.
  • Thorough attention to detail and excellent accuracy in all work.
  • Self-motivation, ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to change.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Computer literate - MS Excel as a minimum.

Based in Stourport, Worcestershire.

Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4pm.
