A new and exciting opportunity to report into and support the Purchasing and Systems Manager within a locally based organisation has arisen. Above all, the successful candidate will be have at least 2-3 years' experience working within a purchasing environment and ideally be experienced in working with international clients. The successful candidate will have the skills and ability to forecast and analyse the peaks and troughs within the business.
Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
*Assessing the stock requirements of the company on a daily basis
*Scheduling supplier deliveries
*Maintaining service requirements for Consumer Goods customers by raising Purchase and works orders in accordance with the planning output
*Building excellent relationships with suppliers and internal / external customers
*Investigating stock issues when they arise in conjunction with the stock control team
*Liaising with stock control re Perpetual Inventory Counts
*Updating the ERP system
*Liaising with freight forwarders
*Monitoring stock levels
*Playing a key role within the small Purchasing team and supporting the department Manager in any additional duties required

Essential skills and experience:
*A minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing / procurement role
*An ability to work as part of a small team
*Exceptional analytical skills
*Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail
*Excellent communication skills and a confidence to make decisions as required
*Experience of using MPS and MRP systems is desirable
