A Senior Buyer is required initially for a period of 6 months on a fixed term contract basis whilst a member of the existing team is on a secondment. There is a potential opportunity for the role to be made permanent after 6 months.
Working in a dedicated and experienced team of 4, the Senior Buyer will report to the Procurement Supervisor and cover 4 main areas of the procurement process - direct buying, indirect buying, new product procurement and category lead.
Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
*Direct & indirect procurement.
*Scheduling & expediting.
*Dealing with supplier issues.
*Negotiating prices, contracts, performance terms & conditions.
*Supplier identification & selection.
*Supplier development & review, monitoring performance.
*Plan & execute cost reduction strategies.
*Buying & scheduling parts for the manufacturing unit.
*Control of costs for tooling & indirect costs in support of the project.
Senior Buyer Requirements:
*Experience in a similar role essential.
*University degree (preferably an engineering discipline).
*3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing support role.
*Experience in fast moving, customer driven purchasing environment.
*Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
*Computer literate, excel essential, SAP beneficial.

Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
