Technical Sales

Attitude and aptitude is key for our client and the willingness to 'go the extra mile' is essential. Selling technical products into a new territory but within a well- established and niche sector, requires an excellent relationship builder and an individual who can identify and target the correct decision maker.

Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Assisting and supporting the Commercial Director in planning and prioritising personal sales activities
  • Making initial introductory calls and conversing confidently with the decision maker
  • Preparing detailed product quotations and Tender submissions in a timely manner
  • Liaising with the project installation coordinator and project team to ensure a smooth handover from receipt of sales order to installation
  • Assisting with the management of the company's sales CRM system by keeping opportunities up to date and managed so that accurate sales forecasts can be generated.
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education to incoming sales enquiries.
  • Proactively in sourcing new equipment and system sales business.
  • Assisting in identifying and establishing new business.
  • Developing long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  • Attend some site visits for new sales and existing key account management.
  • Providing administration support and ensuring records are kept up to date and are accurate

A consultative approach is key for this position as is the need for exceptional attention to detail. Previous experience of working with advanced engineering, software or scientific equipment would be beneficial but not essential.

Essential key skills and experience:

  • Previous B2B experience in a sales / customer service delivery environment
  • A positive, proactive demeanour with a desire to be part of a growing company
  • Exceptional relationship building skills
  • Outstanding listening skills
  • A strong technical acumen and willingness to learn and train on the products
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong administration skills

Any successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check

The role is based in Malvern and offers an element of occasional home working. There will also be some travel to meet with clients and so a Driving Licence is essential (pool car provided).

Salary £22k - £30k depending on experience
