Tuner / Tufting Machinery Technician
Kidderminster | £30,000 - £36,000 | Full Time | On-Site

An established manufacturing business is looking to appoint a hands-on Tuner to support the performance, maintenance and continuous improvement of its tufting and backing line machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically focused environment where you'll play a key role in driving production efficiency, product quality and operational performance, whilst supporting the leadership of the wider factory team.

The Role

• Set, tune and maintain tufting machinery to achieve optimum quality, reliability and output.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
• Lead maintenance activities across backing line machinery, including PPM schedules and continuous improvements.
• Support the Production Manager in coordinating, motivating and leading shop floor teams.
• Drive improvements in manufacturing processes, waste reduction and operational performance.
• Assist with new product trials and implementation projects.
• Support health, safety and compliance initiatives across the factory.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience setting, tuning, maintaining or troubleshooting production machinery.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing environment.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Good leadership and communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience with tufting machinery, textile manufacturing or carpet production.
• PPM planning and maintenance experience.
• Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory capacity.
• First Aid or Fire Warden training.
