Reporting to the Production Manager, the role will require a high level of autonomy and reliability. On a daily basis you will work within both the factory and offices, driving a team of workshop operatives, fabricators and welders to achieve required production levels. An ability to think always be positive, outside the box, problem solve and instil a continuous improvement culture are essential traits. You must have a desire to achieve the highest quality products in the most efficient manner possible.
Manage a team of fabricators, welders & machine operatives through the production process.
Liaise daily with Production Manager to fully understand customer requirements and lead times.
Ensure production deadlines are met.
Ensure quality standards are met.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met & in line with regulations.
Work closely with maintenance / engineering to ensure all machinery & equipment is in good working order.
Experience of managing a workshop department (5 years +).
MIG welding & fabrication experience (5 years +).
Ability to read & interpret CAD drawings.
Strong planning, time management & organisational skills.
Ability to take direction from management but also lead from the front.
Would suit candidates from a heavy steel / welding / fabrication background.
£30,000 - £40,000 annual salary.
Based in Leominster.
Monday to Friday 7am to 5:30pm.
