Buildings / Estates Manager
Hours: Approx. 2 days/16 hours per week, flexible)
Salary: up to £40k pro rata (dep on exp)
Transport: Own transport essential (mileage reimbursed)
If you are you an experienced Buildings / Estates Manager looking to work in a part time role while still having a significant impact, this would be a great opportunity! This is a flexible, part-time role (approx. 16 hours per week) based both in the office and in the field, visiting the sites across Worcestershire, Hereford and very occasionally further afield. You'll play a vital role in overseeing a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for residents while supporting and managing a dedicated team.
Some key Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Buildings & Estates Management:
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all company buildings, ensuring contractors are sourced and contracts are managed effectively. You'll ensure compliance with statutory tests and certifications, and you'll have responsibility for refurbishments and minor project works. - Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all homes are compliant with UK health and safety legislation, including fire prevention, water management, and accident reporting. Overseeing risk assessments, fire drills, and emergency evacuation plans to keep everyone safe. - Group Refurbishment Programme:
Support major projects and help manage a £250,000 maintenance budget. Working with the leadership team on new builds and major capital projects. - General Responsibilities:
Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team and Board. Working with Maintenance Operatives to foster a positive work culture and ensure the best use of company resources.
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in maintaining and improving buildings and environments for the benefit of residents.
- NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications (NEBOSH National Diploma is desirable).
- Previous experience in Building/Estate Management, preferably across multiple sites.
- Knowledge of fire safety and water hygiene management is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and see projects through to completion.
- Willingness to travel between homes and support with a hands-on approach.
- Positive, friendly, and proactive attitude.
