Overview
We're recruiting on behalf of a growing logistics technology business that is looking for an EDI Specialist to take ownership of designing, developing and supporting high-quality EDI integrations. You'll work across transport, warehousing and supply-chain systems, ensuring clean, reliable data flows between customers, carriers and internal platforms. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role with strong influence over integration standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end EDI workflows and map data across TMS, WMS, ERP and carrier systems.
- Develop and configure integrations using EDIFACT, X12, XML, JSON and CSV.
- Set up communication channels including AS2, SFTP, APIs and VAN connections.
- Carry out unit, integration and end-to-end testing; validate CONTRL/997 acknowledgements.
- Monitor daily EDI traffic, resolve failures and maintain high reliability.
- Work directly with clients, trading partners and internal teams during onboarding and troubleshooting.
- Produce mapping specs, process documentation and support materials.
- Recommend improvements and contribute to scalable integration patterns.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on EDI development experience, ideally within logistics or supply chain.
- Strong understanding of EDIFACT/X12 standards and mapping logic.
- Knowledge of logistics data types such as orders, shipments, ASNs, inventory and tracking events.
- Experience with AS2, FTP/SFTP, REST/SOAP APIs.
- SQL proficiency and the ability to automate using Python or JavaScript.
Desirable
- Middleware exposure (Cleo, Boomi, MuleSoft, Seeburger, IBM Sterling).
- Experience with Azure or AWS integration services.
- Understanding of logistics operations (pick/pack/ship, bookings, freight, goods receipt).
- Consultancy or client-facing background.
Why This Role Stands Out
EDI is a core part of the organisation's automation and data strategy. Your work will directly improve operational accuracy, reduce manual processes and power high-quality analytics for clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving and building scalable integration solutions.
