Calibration Technician / Calibration Engineer

Kidderminster, Worcestershire
Monday to Friday - Days
Circa £41,000 (DOE) + Bonus & Benefits

The Role

A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Calibration Technician / Calibration Engineer to support its quality and engineering operations.

This is a hands-on, lab-based role focused on managing calibration activities, maintaining procedures and supporting wider engineering and quality teams to ensure equipment and processes meet internal and customer standards.

This opportunity would suit a calibration or metrology professional with a strong electrical or mechanical background who enjoys ownership, accuracy and working to high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain calibration records using CMMS / calibration software
  • Create, update and implement calibration procedures for a wide range of equipment
  • Carry out calibration activities to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
  • Maintain the calibration laboratory to a high professional standard
  • Respond efficiently to calibration requests from production and engineering teams
  • Support quality investigations and assist with calibration-related non-conformances
  • Provide technical support to the wider engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Calibration Technician, Calibration Engineer or Metrology Technician
  • Experience creating and implementing calibration procedures
  • Confident using CMMS / asset management systems
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Exposure to quality systems or audits
  • Background in precision, test or instrumentation calibration
