Job Title: Guillotine Operator (Temp to Perm)

Location: Kidderminster
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm

Friday: 6:00am - 12:00pm

The Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Guillotine Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business in Kidderminster. This is an excellent opportunity offering an immediate start and the potential to secure a permanent position.

Working within the Bespoke Fabrication team, you will be responsible for cutting sheet metal into smaller strips used in building applications. Each job is different, requiring attention to detail and the ability to accurately interpret technical and CAD drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Production:

  • Set up, adjust and operate guillotine machinery (3m and 4m) safely and efficiently
  • Cut sheet metal blanks to required sizes and specifications
  • Interpret CAD drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to tolerances
  • Work with a range of materials, thicknesses and bespoke fabrication profiles

Quality Control:

  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required dimensions and tolerances (+/- 1mm)
  • Complete all relevant documentation (e.g. route cards, permits, FLT logs)
  • Identify and report defects or quality issues to Team Leaders
  • Maintain consistent quality standards across all work

Health & Safety:

  • Follow all company health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Report hazards, near misses or concerns promptly
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety and efficiency

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience working within sheet metal, fabrication or machining environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical/CAD drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good numerical and measurement skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Previous experience operating guillotine machinery
  • FLT Licence (preferred)

Training & Progression:

  • Opportunity to progress

  • Physically capable of lifting materials (up to 20kg)
