They are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join their Manufacturing Department and support the ongoing reliability of site machinery and equipment.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring production equipment is maintained to a high standard, minimising downtime and supporting smooth manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out mechanical maintenance and repair activities across manufacturing equipment

  • Responding to breakdowns and clearly communicating fault status and corrective actions

  • Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to support maintenance activities

  • Ensuring all verbal and written communications are handled promptly and accurately

  • Providing clear, concise explanations of breakdown situations to colleagues and stakeholders

  • Recording key information from telephone conversations where required

  • Maintaining a professional, courteous approach when dealing with suppliers and colleagues

  • Supporting the wider manufacturing team to ensure minimal disruption to production

About You

You will be a mechanically skilled engineer or fitter with experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. You'll be confident communicating technical information and comfortable working as part of a team.
