Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

The Opportunity

A global manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support its on-site Engineering function. This is a hands-on role focused on equipment reliability, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.

You'll be joining a well-established engineering team, playing a key role in maintaining site assets and supporting operational performance across the business.

The Role

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and improving all site equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across site equipment

  • Diagnosing faults, identifying required parts, and completing mechanical and electrical repairs

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Developing and working to maintenance schedules and SOPs

  • Managing and maintaining critical spare parts inventory

  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and technical documentation

  • Liaising with external contractors and suppliers for servicing and upgrades

  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Feed Safety, and Quality standards

  • Providing flexible support to site operations, including occasional overtime and weekend work

About You

You'll be a practical, electrically biased engineer with strong fault-finding capability and a solid mechanical understanding. You're organised, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Essential experience:

  • Electrical / electronic background with strong fault-finding skills

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs

  • MIG & TIG welding experience

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering / Instrumentation

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong mechanical and electrical hands-on knowledge

Desirable:

  • Experience within food, packaging, or process manufacturing

  • Forklift truck licence
