The Opportunity
A global manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support its on-site Engineering function. This is a hands-on role focused on equipment reliability, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.
You'll be joining a well-established engineering team, playing a key role in maintaining site assets and supporting operational performance across the business.
The Role
As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and improving all site equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across site equipment
Diagnosing faults, identifying required parts, and completing mechanical and electrical repairs
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Developing and working to maintenance schedules and SOPs
Managing and maintaining critical spare parts inventory
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and technical documentation
Liaising with external contractors and suppliers for servicing and upgrades
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Feed Safety, and Quality standards
Providing flexible support to site operations, including occasional overtime and weekend work
About You
You'll be a practical, electrically biased engineer with strong fault-finding capability and a solid mechanical understanding. You're organised, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Essential experience:
Electrical / electronic background with strong fault-finding skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs
MIG & TIG welding experience
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering / Instrumentation
Full UK driving licence
Strong mechanical and electrical hands-on knowledge
Desirable:
Experience within food, packaging, or process manufacturing
Forklift truck licence
