Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer


Location: Warnham, Horsham
Salary: Up to £52,700 (inclusive of allowances/bonuses)
Hours: 6:00pm - 6:00am, 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (nights)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

The Role

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the in-house maintenance team at their Warnham site. You will be responsible for keeping specialist machinery running smoothly through troubleshooting, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and hands-on repairs.

This is a varied and dynamic role, combining skills in electrical, mechanical, fabrication, welding, and service engineering. Your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities will directly contribute to the efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement of production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out essential maintenance across plant machinery

  • Attend and resolve breakdowns quickly and efficiently

  • Install and maintain plant equipment to high standards

  • Maintain machine safety standards and manage critical spares

  • Support the development of the agility maintenance system

  • Promote Lean thinking and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

  • Use diagnostic and testing equipment to locate and repair faults

  • Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation

  • Adhere to quality systems in line with BSEN ISO 9000

Full training and PPE will be provided to ensure you can work safely and effectively.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Apprentice-trained or time-served as a multi skilled engineer

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline

  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems

  • IT skills - working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

  • High standards of health & safety awareness

Desirable:

  • IOSH awareness

  • Experience in continuous improvement or Lean initiatives
