Location: Stourport-on-Severn
Salary: £36,500 - £42,300
Hours: Monday to Friday | Full-time, Permanent

The Company

Our client is a well-established manufacturing business operating within a precision engineering environment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Toolmaker to support their production operations.

The Role

As a Toolmaker, you will play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance and repair of precision tooling used across production. Working to tight tolerances, you will ensure tools, dies, jigs and fixtures are produced and maintained to the highest standards, supporting efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine tooling requirements

  • Set up and operate a range of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders and CNC equipment

  • Manufacture, assemble and fit precision tools, dies, jigs and fixtures

  • Maintain and repair existing tooling to minimise production downtime

  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment

  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling issues and improve designs

  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards at all times

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the toolroom

The Person

  • Time served apprentice Toolmaker or equivalent experience

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and precision measuring equipment

  • Experience with both manual and CNC machining

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
