'Having a Giraffe' with Hewett's & St Richard’s Hospice

Get ready to have a giraffe in Worcester this summer!

The hotly anticipated Worcester Stands Tall public art trail featuring a rainbow of giant giraffe sculptures is finally here!

The Hewett Recruitment sponsored giraffe, Gregory, can be found in all his glory at The Cross on Worcester High Street, joining 56 other individually designed and painted sculptures around the city forming a trail of approximately six-miles around Worcester.

Not only is Hewett Recruitment's Managing Director Louise paying tribute to her late parents with the giraffe, she is also a keen supporter of Worcester Stands Tall’s aim to raise funds for the St Richard’s Hospice Build 2020 appeal to build a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire.

Louise is a Patron of St Richard’s – a charity which already supports more than 3,300 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire. But some areas of the hospice building are bursting at the seams so funds from the Build 2020 appeal will help build a bigger hospice to better support the current patients and reach the unmet need of thousands of local people in the future.

Anyone with a life-limiting condition can benefit from hospice care and support. Their care is not just for those living with cancer but increasingly other illnesses such as Motor Neurone Disease, renal failure or respiratory conditions. As treatment options increase and people live longer with a life-limiting illness they will face a number of challenges.

A bigger hospice, a widespread redevelopment of the current building and a focus on more flexible, seven day a week care and support will mean St Richard’s can reach more people in ways they want, helping them come to terms with their illness and its impact on their lives.

Funds will be raised for the Build 2020 appeal at the end of the ten week art trail when each large giraffe sculpture will be auctioned.

To find the Hewett Recruitment giraffe you can pick up a trail map which are available from points around the city, including Worcester Tourist Information Centre, Worcester Cathedral, Crowngate Shopping Centre and the Worcester Stands Tall pop-up shop – also located in Crowngate Shopping Centre. Gregory’s home is location number 6!

There is also an app for the trail too – which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Don’t forget to take lots of pictures with the Gregory, your friends and family and tag Hewett’s to enter our fabulous competition, where both adult and children’s prizes are available to win. For more information regarding the competition, visit www.hewett-recruitment.co.uk/worcester-stands-tall.

Good luck and have fun!
