Payroll & Benefits Specialist

Worcester | Full-time

£30,000 - £35,000

Hewett Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing organisation with the appointment of a highly organised and detail-focused Payroll & Benefits Specialist.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive People & Culture function where you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle and the administration of a wide range of employee benefits.

This hands-on, specialist role is perfect for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys problem solving and takes pride in delivering an accurate, compliant and reliable payroll service.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end monthly payroll processing across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Management of Sage Payroll and Sage HR systems, ensuring data integrity and system functionality.

  • Administration of employee benefits including pensions, health insurance, life assurance, and pay awards.

  • Preparation and submission of statutory reporting (PAYE, NI, HMRC submissions, gender pay gap data, etc.).

  • Year-end processing including P60s, P45s, and support with P11D/P11Db submissions.

  • Providing clear and timely payroll advice to employees, managers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Reconciliation, auditing, and proactive resolution of payroll queries and discrepancies.

  • Close collaboration with the People & Culture team on new starters, leavers and contractual changes.

About you

You will be an experienced Payroll and Benefits professional who is confident working independently with strong technical knowledge. You will bring:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a dedicated payroll role, ideally within a multi-entity organisation.

  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.

  • Experience using payroll and HRIS systems (Sage preferred).

  • Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

  • Professional payroll qualifications such as CIPP (Foundation or Diploma) are highly advantageous.
