Pay for industrial roles normally increases every year in line with the National Living Wage and shift allowances are maintained as a set percentage for unsociable hours. However, we have found this year for the first time is that basic wages went up in April in line with the National Living Wage and then have continued to rise month-on–month ever since, as a means of competing for the illusive candidates for these roles.
