Business Development Manager

If you are someone who thrives on working in a fast paced and dynamic environment, building relationships and working in a strategic and consultative manner, this could be a great opportunity for you! Experienced in managing high profiled clients and forging long term relationships, you will be working on securing new electrical connections within the construction industry and being involved from quotation and design process through to devising solutions to suit the clients' needs. With a strategic approach and a desire to build new relationships, you will be joining an organisation that prides itself on a low staff turnover and genuine team ethos.

Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Building and developing good relationships with both existing and potential clients
  • Developing (or building upon) technical or electrical knowledge to assists customer solutions
  • Developing (or building upon) a detailed understanding of the new connections market and the role within it
  • Working with marketing to identify and target new sectors
  • Undertaking either site visits or online meetings with clients
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring al proposals are followed up
  • Securing orders from quotations
  • Monitoring performance against agreed objectives
  • Monitoring competitor activity

Although it is not essential to know about the new connections sector, previous experience within energy or utilities would be advantageous. A willingness to learn new technical products is a must!

The main office is based in Worcester and occasional nationwide travel will also be required.

A salary of between £35k - £45k is on offer, depending on the level of experience.
