Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk
Location: Kidderminster (Office-Based)
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Salary: £14 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a busy and dynamic accounts team at a leading automotive dealership in Kidderminster. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with experience in finance and accounts, ideally within the automotive industry, but we are open to applicants with strong purchase ledger experience from other sectors.
This role offers an immediate start and the potential to become a permanent position after a successful probationary period. Full training and support will be provided, making this role ideal for someone eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Processing high volumes of invoices efficiently
- Reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure accuracy
- Preparing and processing monthly payment runs
- Addressing any invoice discrepancies or queries as they arise
- Preparing and processing bank payments
- Maintaining accurate purchase ledgers for multiple dealership locations
- Assisting with ad-hoc accounting duties and projects when required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Assistant role (automotive experience is desirable but not essential)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of data
- Confidence in dealing with suppliers and addressing invoice queries
- Ability to reconcile statements and process payments accurately
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Proficiency with basic accounting software (ERP experience a plus)
Desirable Skills
- Experience in the automotive industry (desired but not essential)
- Familiarity with purchase ledger systems or accounting software
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
