Senior Systems Engineer
Malvern

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer to join an expanding and high-tech research and development organisation to work in a team of engineers developing innovative and market leading products.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of the Senior Systems Engineer includes the following key responsibilities:
*To provide innovative physics, mechanics, mathematical analysis, signal processing and control for the design of all products.
*To understand complex customer requirements.
*To develop and take ownership of the system architecture, including defining and optimising system partitioning and interfaces and delivering robust system build and test procedures.
*To participate in the development of products as part of multi-disciplinary project teams and to work within project timescales, providing progress indication.
*To lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering groups and technical specialists to solve problems.
*To liaise with suppliers in defining the choice of components with particular emphasis on state of the art technology.
*To acquire and maintain knowledge of up to date technology and its potential application.
The Senior Systems Engineer will have a mix of the following:
*Degree qualified as a Graduate Physicist, Mechanical, Mathematician or equivalent. PhD in relevant discipline may be useful.
*A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in a system development environment.
*The ability to solve complex systems problems using a combination of sound experimental technique and good analytical understanding.
*Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
*Good experimental techniques, mathematical modelling of systems and ability to present complex arguments.
*Experience of relevant tools such as MATLAB or Zemax would be an advantage.
