They are seeking a Technical Author on a contract basis to support them with the production and release of their latest suite of web based products. Requirements for the Technical Author include:
-Developing high quality user documentation for products.
-Plan and organise the production of user facing documentation.
-Extend and improve user documentation standards.
-Liaising with distributed development teams and other technical authors globally.
-Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
-Experience of producing technical user manuals, online help and tutorials in a software environment.
-Previous experience producing technical documentation within Software or Engineering environments.
-Experience using authoring tools such as Madcap Flare, Robohelp, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products.
-XML and or HTML awareness.
-Good level of IT literacy I.e. Microsoft Windows operating systems.
-Ability to organise work under pressure from deadlines.
-Experience of developing Webhelp.
-Previous experience working with 3rd party localisation/ translation service providers.
-Competence in scheduling and setting priorities.
-Experience of configuration management, change management and defect tracking tools within software development processes would be an advantage.
