Hewett Recruitment are working in partnership with Worcestershire LEP and Timewise to bring to the county the first Flexible Jobs Index for Worcestershire.
Louise Hewett explained "I first met Emma Stewart from Timewise when, as a member of the Future of Jobs Commission in London we invited her to speak. I felt the work they were doing on promoting growth through flexible hiring was very much worth sharing with my own clients and the wider audience in Worcestershire and we are grateful for our partnership with WLEP which seemed to be the perfect vehicle to make this happen. This flexibility study fits nicely into the wider context of our practical recommendations to employers and policy makers that can be found in the Future of Jobs Report - which talks about future proofing and re-imagining hiring procedures and developing forward looking workforce planning, reflecting changing demographics, technology, talent shortages and changing employee expectations.
One of the key recommendations was to embed flexible hiring and make inclusion the norm by re-evaluating recruitment procedures."
One of the top ten searched terms on Hewett Recruitment's website is part-time - but the jobs advertised are largely full-time. It seems in this skills short, candidate short environment, there is a lot to learn. We are potentially missing a whole tranche of skilled people. It's time to get creative about how we design jobs - some of the best talent prefer to work flexibly.
The workshop taking place tomorrow, Friday 22nd March from 1.30pm-4pm, at the Worcestershire County Cricket Club is aimed at both business owners and HR professionals who want to ensure they are positioned to attract the best talent for their business. At this FREE to attend workshop, delegates will be able to learn more about how the Flexible Jobs Index examines the gap between the supply of flexible jobs and the demand for flexible work and how this may be locking groups of people out of work. The session will provide employers with practical steps to take away and begin to embed flexibility into hiring strategies.
There is still time to book your pace for tomorrow's workshop. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place.
