Hewett Recruitment raise over £33k for Local Charities

To celebrate its 40th year in business, Hewett Recruitment are hosting a 40@40 Challenge, with plans to raise £40,000 for local charities through a series of fundraising initiatives and events. So far, the Specialist Recruitment company have successfully raised over £33,700.

The 40@40 challenge officially kick-started last April, and since then, the firm have participated in a multitude of charitable activities and events, from dusting off their running shoes to take part in various Fun Runs, 5K’s and Marathons, to Hewett consultants throwing themselves into Skydives, celebrating Coffee Mornings and enjoying Dress Down Days.

Each activity supported Charities throughout Herefordshire & Worcestershire, including the likes of St Richards Hospice, St Paul’s Hostel, Worcestershire’s Young Carers, Kemp Hospice, Worcester Community Trust, Mind Herefordshire and many more.

It doesn’t stop here, as senior management went afraid to get stuck in, with Directors Laura Hewett and Ben Mannion braving the cold at Sixways Stadium CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for St Paul’s Hostel and the homeless people in Worcester, followed by Ben’s mighty challenge of a 220-mile Canoe journey along the length of the River Severn, raising funds for Megan Baker House, a charity providing conductive education sessions for children and adults with motor disorders

Speaking of the milestone campaign, Laura Hewett, Director of Hewett Recruitment, said: “Over the last forty years, our local communities have played an integral role in helping us shape the company into the well-respected business that it is today. Therefore, we felt it was important that our milestone anniversary not only celebrated our own achievements but also gives something back to those local communities as well.”

Founder and Managing Director, Louise Hewett agrees: “I’ve always been equally passionate about the business and our role in the local community. I founded Hewett Recruitment nearly four decades ago and I’m exceptionally proud of the company it has become today.

“I’m also fortunate that my work has led to opportunities to become involved with a number of local charities. Community work is in our DNA and knowing that our amazing team have fully committed to this challenge, I feel confident that we’re going to reach our target and help a variety of local organisations to achieve their own charitable aims.

Louise is a Fellow of the University of Worcester, received a ‘Pride of Worcestershire’ award and a national IRP award for Best Contribution to the Community. She remains a Director and Trustee of the Warriors Community Foundation and Patron of St Richard’s Hospice.
