Collections Advisor

The Role: We are currently recruiting a full-time Collections Advisor to join a friendly and vibrant team. The Collections Advisors play a crucial role in managing and facilitating the collection of outstanding debts owed by customers. The primary responsibility of a Collections Advisor is to ensure timely payments while maintaining a positive relationship with the customer. The role requires a delicate approach as customers may be facing financial difficulty. If you have experience dealing with customers, whether face-to-face or over the phone, you have the potential to become an exceptional Collections Advisor.


  • Working in a busy call centre environment.
  • Receiving calls from customers who owe money and processing payments.
  • Using your initiative to negotiate payment arrangements and setting up affordable repayment plans for customers if payment in full cannot be collected.
  • Maintaining call quality whilst ensuring call lengths are not excessive to help reduce lost calls.
  • Making occasional outbound calls to those who have failed to make payment or contact.
  • Applying sensitivity to every situation to assist customers in managing their financial repayments.
  • Making informed decisions based on customers' unique circumstances and information provided.
  • Using the in-house dialling system (full training is given).

  • Exceptional customer service/ call centre skills.
  • Credit control experience advantageous
  • Natural people skills.
  • Desire to help and find the best solution for both clients and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A positive and approachable manner.
  • A strong background in customer service, telephone support, call handling, or collections is advantageous.
