Customer Service Operative (Maternity Cover - Temporary)
Location: Droitwich (own transport required)
Pay: £12.95 per hour (£26,935 pro rata)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30 (40 hours per week)
We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Operative to join a busy Customer Services team on a full-time temporary basis to cover maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, friendly, and fast-paced office environment, where you will play a key role in supporting customer accounts and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
The Role - Customer Service Operative
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will be responsible for a range of customer service and administrative duties, including:
- Managing and supporting a number of dedicated customer accounts
- Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and hauliers via phone, email, and face-to-face
- Processing customer data and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Investigating and resolving customer queries and discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting stock control processes
- Assisting with general office administration tasks
- Providing occasional support to the Goods-In department and covering other accounts when required
You will play a key role in ensuring a high standard of customer service while contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.
About You - Customer Service Operative
We are looking for a professional and reliable individual who:
- Has previous experience in customer service or a similar administrative/public-facing role
- Is confident communicating with a wide range of people
- Has strong attention to detail and works accurately under pressure
- Is IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Has a positive attitude and can work effectively as part of a team
- Has a good telephone manner and strong organisational skills
Previous experience in a busy office or logistics/stock control environment would be advantageous.
Additional Information - Customer Service Operative
- Full training will be provided
- Immediate start available to allow a handover period before maternity leave begins (end of May)
- Expected duration is approximately 11 months, with some flexibility depending on business needs
- Due to the rural location, candidates must have their own transport
