Data Engineer - Hybrid (Cheltenham)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Data Engineer to join a growing technology team. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining robust data infrastructure to ensure the seamless flow of accurate, high-quality data that supports analytics and reporting across the organisation.

You will work with a variety of data sources, including a bespoke ERP platform, CRM systems, and other internal applications, integrating and structuring data to meet business needs. The environment includes Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and you'll have the opportunity to leverage these technologies to deliver scalable, efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.

  • Develop and manage a centralised data warehouse using Microsoft Fabric.

  • Design data models and schemas to support reporting and analytics.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Create and maintain datasets and semantic models for use in Power BI.

  • Deliver high-quality reports and dashboards using Power BI and SSRS.

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security, following best practices for governance and compliance.

  • Continuously improve data infrastructure and workflows.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in data engineering, BI development, or a related technical role.

  • Strong SQL skills with Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Experience integrating data from ERP and CRM platforms.

  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data modelling, and structured data workflows.

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SSRS.

  • Proficiency in a modern programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, SQL).

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
