Group Purchase Ledger Controller

Location: Ledbury
Salary: £28,000
Permanent / Full Time

The Opportunity

A detail-focused Group Purchase LedgerController professional. This role will see you take ownership of the group purchase ledgers, support the finance team and contribute to the smooth running of the accounts payable function.

It's a varied position, perfect for someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives in a busy finance environment and is eager to develop their skills with exposure to management accounts across multiple trading companies.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Matching goods receipt POs to delivery notes and invoices

  • Checking general ledger coding in SAP and entering matched invoices

  • Processing authorised invoices for payment

  • Raising and monitoring debit notes on queried invoices

  • Managing Accounts Payable mailboxes efficiently

  • Calculating and processing settlement discounts

  • Overseeing the AP invoice authorisation process and document scanning system

  • Preparing and processing payment runs to suppliers

  • Maintaining HSBC payment templates and issuing supplier remittances

  • Handling proforma and ad hoc payment requests

  • Reconciling monthly credit cards, weekly/monthly bank accounts and petty cash

  • Resolving supplier issues to ensure continuity of supply

  • Completing monthly supplier statement reconciliations and aged creditor reports

  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining the supplier database

  • Supporting audit preparation and assisting with year-end packs

  • Managing purchase ledger filing and archiving invoices periodically

What We're Looking For

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Experience in a finance or purchase ledger role

  • Strong organisational skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail

  • Team player with the ability to work independently

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work

  • Desirable: SAP Business One and integrated scanning system experience (training available)

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in Maths & English (Grade C or above)

  • Experience in Purchase Ledger
