As Operations Manager you will report directly to the Plant Manager with overall responsibility for all site operations and overall performance within a specialist chemical manufacturing facility. You will work closely with the team to identify areas for development whilst ensuring robust and effective plans are put in place to ensure continuous improvement of all processes.
To manage and improve the day-to-day manufacturing on site whilst ensuring all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and regulations are observed.
To be responsible for the overall performance of the site ensuring the supply of quality products on time.
To provide an overall 'hands on' leadership of the site with a focus on building upon an effective and high-quality manufacturing facility and to manage and motivate the team of plant personnel.
To implement, monitor and manage safety and safety awareness initiatives.
To ensure that the relevant control systems are in place and adhered to and to improve where required.
To oversee the QC/QA function on site and to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
To evaluate and instigate manpower resources and equipment requirements in line with business growth and objectives.
To propose and implement new Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives.
To propose, prepare, present and implement manufacturing process cost saving plans.
To be responsible for the implementation and review of all plant personnel training programs (to include all areas of safety issues and plant processing operations and equipment).
To assist the Plant Manager in the development of new and existing manufacturing processes.
A Technical Qualification, preferably Degree Level in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
A progressive career in Production Management (managerial or supervisory), currently in a position responsible for a complex production process.
Experience in a process industry is essential and knowledge of batch processing with a sound knowledge of process chemistry would be advantageous.
Excellent planning and organization skills including production/operational management experience.
Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
An excellent record of man-management with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate others.
A qualification in safety such as NEBOSH is preferred.
A god understanding of Process Hazard Analysis techniques.
Competitive salary available - dependant on experience.
Based in Kidderminster.
Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm. Friday 8:30am to 2pm.
